State of the Ark An Atlas of Conservation in Action
Durrell, Lee Publisher: Doubleday Resource Type: Book
Abstract: Durrel 's atlas-conservation in action demonstrates the link between our attitude towards the environment both historically and currently and the precarious state of the planet today. It is written in a thematic content to youth as well as the general public. The five chapters link the environment to educational issues. Interwoven with the text are studies that focus on specific regional projects or threatened plants and animals. As well as photographs there are maps and graphs that explore from various perspectives the impact of man on the environment. Besides the direct connection between conservation and human benefit she also conveys the sense of the interdependence and interrelationship between all plant and animal species and the world they inhabit.
